Personal Injury

People are often injured in accidents ranging from motor vehicle accidents, motorcycle accidents, slip and falls or dog bites. People are involved in these accidents by no fault of their own.

Personal Injury Protection (PIP)

PIP stands for personal injury protection. This is a part of your own car insurance policy. It is a stop gap insurance. No matter who is at fault in an accident the PIP coverage of the car you were sitting in at the time of the accident will kick into effect.

PIP pays the first $3,000 of your medical bills, including loss of household services to the amount of $20 per day for up to one year. Thus, if you can’t do dishes, wash the dog, etc., and someone has to come help you, whether or not you have to pay the person for their assistance, Personal Injury Protection will pay that $20 a day.

PIP will also pay a portion of your lost wages for up to one year. They will pay 85% of your current wage up to $250 a week. Most attorneys will not assist in collecting or coordinating any PIP benefits because we are not allowed to take a fee on these benefits. However, we will do this for free.
